Passenger side Pleasures.....

So, my roadside photo talents have been put to use once more, but this time, thankfully, I wasn't driving.

My college choir took a roadtrip and the scenery was amazazing.

I felt like singing a hobbit song. I wish I knew one.

This was something that had to be exposed to the world. You'd think they would say "my place" or "my spot". But no. It's Myspace. Jesus can be your top friend now apparently.

I wish my hometown had buildings like this.

Kind of Batman-esque.
done.

8 months of turmoil ahead...

How could this day come so quickly? Why must I wait 8 months to see my beloved Lost once more? Such a sad day....

BUT, nevertheless, FINALE night was awesome...

We all agreed to partake in our usual custom of costumes, since we'd been slackin' for a while.

Carina was Rousseau. Check out the Claire-claws....

I chose to be Mikhail. Something about that Russian accent...

Turns out The Dollar Tree doesn't sell knives or plain black eye patches, so I had to color the white skull cross with marker...so dedicated....

Funny how we all kept to a theme of deceased characters.

Her Aunt ended up choosing Locke, I borrowed her sweet knife for some shots

Carina wasn't too happy about the newly added prop, not so proppish, more slice your head off realish...Although my hand is resting against the wall, it sort of looks like I'm yanking her hair back, ready to slash.....yipe!

Mikhail may surface again, he could have swam away.....triumphing once more over death...

Speaking of Death. Juliet most definitely got the short straw.

Could she have died any worse? This was the most gruesome, merciless death we've yet to witness. Will it work, will history be re-written? Or are all the main characters dharma-goo from the blast? (gasp! Jack....)

One aspect of the show pleased me immensely. For years I have toiled over the forgotten DS ring. Killing Charlie was bad enough, along with the destruction of his 5 greatest hits for Claire (thanks Des...), but leaving it behind to be lost forever?! So, thank you Damon and Carlton.

One complaint however.

One of these things is not like the other....

Conventional wedding vs. traditional? I doubt they would've had two weddings, so what's with the inconsistency of attire? eh...I'll get over it.

I'll miss it terribly. I'll have to start working Wednesdays again....oh the horror.

There's an App for that.

Alright, when did the idea of sharing die?

All I wanted was to pitch a funny sketch idea to SNL, because it'd be awesome.
So I went to their site and found this in the FAQ section:

"SNL" has a strict policy of not accepting unsolicited scripts, script ideas, drafts of sketches, or even jokes."

Way to snuff that creative candle.

So, instead of letting them in on it, I'll put it here. And perchance, some SNL writer happens to glance across it, hey take the credit man, I just want to see it done:)

IDEA:

So the iPhone has all those silly App ads telling how to ship a package, figure out tips, and even hang a shelf so it's level. Well.....what if....

President Obama voiced the ad ( and when I say Obama, I mean Fred Armisen) saying...

"Say you're the president of a country....and it's going through a financial crisis...and they may need some bailouts....
Well, there's an App for that."

"Yup. There's an App for just about anything."

Hey. I'd laugh.

Smoky, you smarty....

Finally some genuine Sci-fi leaks in...

There is a certain Star Trek feeling to this moment.

Totally called this. When Ben first starting talking Caesar, I could see him analyzing him as a potential threat, and I just knew. He's dead. Totally awesome shot though, I mean it was almost Pilot good.

Not to toot my own horn but........Well. I have a gift.

So now we know:
  • Kate is here to find Claire (or so she says)
  • Jack is here to find his purpose (sounds a little destiny-crazed Locke)
  • John is here to enjoy his leadershipness
  • Hurley...my guess is Charlie, and to help George Lucas
  • Sun is here for Jin (or possibly Lapidus? haha)
  • Juliet and Sawyer staying for good? We shall see..... I wonder if given the chance to return to their proper place in time, they would go their separate ways...

Cellular Exasperation.

Have you ever felt torn in all directions, everyone telling you what you want and how wonderful it will be together?

Well, yes. I have, it was with three companies. Verizon. Sprint. and T Mobile.

I originally started with Unicel, but they've decided to mesh with Verizon. I didn't care too much at first because as long as I kept my phone, any plan was sufficient.
This simple wish proved to be not so.

Here is my phone, i love it. It is easy to use, and big screen, has all my ringtones and photos. it is the best. BUT it has a sim card.

My brother gave it to me when my Razor punked out, and I've loved it ever since, and thanks to those lovely sim cards, I was able to use a Tmobile phone with Unicel.

Unfortunately, every company has gotten the idea that sim cards are a thing of the past. Or they are just tired of people not buying their phones. Either way, they were forcing me to get a different phone. So, Verizon. I refuse you.

A few days later, my dad decides to switch us all over to Sprint, unbeknownst to us. Just as before, my one condition was keeping my phone, and they were just as bad. So I started shopping through their selection...

this one was cute, but too small.

This one was what I was used to, but pretty spendy.

And on top of everything, the bluetooth application doesn't work for sharing files like ringtones and such. That was it. I was done. So after 5 days with Sprint, we parted bitterly.

So I decided the only way to keep my beloved Tmobile dash was to go with Tmobile. I now pay month to month, no overage charges, and I pay exactly for what I'm using. AND they use sim cards and have no plans in changing that.

Cellphones are such a pain.

Roadside Photography

I know this isn't the safest of hobbies, especially since I don't take the time to pull over each time I want a photo. It's quite simple really, one hand on the wheel, the other pointed in the general direction of the subject out the window, and hopefully no cars are near (for safety and photo purposes.)
This past weekend I embarked on a mini-roadtrip to see some friends over the mountain. Little did I know, I would experience many different exciting events and encounter excellent photo opportunities under extremely dangerous conditions...

This one wasn't bad. It was calm, no traffic, I was just heading out of town.

Here is another easy peasy one, you could keep both hands on the wheel for this one.
I felt weird taking this photo since I happened to follow this car over a hundred miles...awkward.

Here's where it gets tricky. It stinks when there's something really cool to shoot, but the best angle is on a curve, and you're going....well at an increasing speed..hence the canted angle.

Self photography isn't too good either. It shows all of your unpleasant features. I don't think anyone looks good when their driving. But I liked the trees reflected in my sunglasses.

Finally, I made it to my destination, no more trees and snow, finally something green and civilized!
-I know the cracked windshield is just awesome.

I was glad to be done driving.

Oh, and one more thing. While I was there, I had one last amazing experience. I tried on a Snuggie. I'd post the photo, but it's too heinous to advertise. Just imagine me as Gandalf, only blue and pink. That's all you need to know.

Welcome New Recruits...

Now who would have guessed....

The best part (in my opinion) of the whole episode was Jack.

He just couldn't believe that HE, a spinal surgeon, who graduated a year ahead of everyone else, is now a Dharma Janitor, based on his poor results on the aptitude test. Way to stick it Sawyer.

Another funny one was Juliet's short-lived maternal instinct. Hey, if I knew I was holding a creepy baby-mama-napper, I'd throw it back.

AND, Juliet had her own little power-play of her own with the newly arrived rival for Sawyer's tender little heart. We all skipped a beat when Phil gave Kate the evil suspicion eye, but sure enough Juliet has to leave everyone on the edge of their seat while she "saves" the day.

So, way to go Sun, you are the smartest of them all, for not trusting every slimy word out of this man's mouth.

SIDE note:
One not so supported theory of mine with no basis other than my hunch (what hunch?) is that Miles is Pierre Chang's son. AKA Marvin Candle, Edgar Haliwax, Marvin Wickmund ( what's the obsession with candles? )

And one more "yay" moment, we finally get to put a face to the brain stain.
Good ol' Radzinsky, pre-end of the world-button crazy.

Till the next marvelous night...
